- CU Boulder鈥檚 2016-17 theatre season continues with Unspoken,聽a 2016 work by New Play Festival winner and PhD candidate Kevin Crowe. The intimate portrait of six friends living in New York City runs Feb. 15 to 19 in CU鈥檚 Loft Theatre.
- Writer-director Niki Tulk's "Ophelia | Leaves" gathers poetry, soundscapes, video projections and cello into a meditation on the spirit of "Hamlet's" Ophelia as she might have existed. The production premieres Jan. 27 and 28.
- On Feb. 9 and 10, the College of Music鈥檚 band department hosts the U.S. Air Force Academy Concert Band for a series of master classes and a joint concert in honor of the Air Force's 70th birthday.
- Four graduating CU Boulder students have choreographed brand-new works for the spring showcase, "Catapult," examining everything from anxiety in modern times to the negative impact of processed food to the male gaze in Renaissance art.
- CU Presents'聽80th-anniversary Artist Series continues with a concert of sizzling, seductive music and dance from Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana, experts in traditional Spanish dance. The performance聽takes place Jan. 21 at 7:30 p.m. in Macky Auditorium.
- A partnership of CU Boulder students, faculty and staff will host a Jan. 25 BuffsUnited event that will support the values of an inclusive campus and the Colorado Creed. The event is free and open to the public.
- Expect the unexpected at this fall鈥檚 Open Space, a dance production featuring brand-new works created, choreographed and performed by CU Boulder students. A tantalizing mix of pieces will be on display for聽three different showings from Nov. 11 to 13 in CU鈥檚 Charlotte York Irey Theatre.
- CU Boulder鈥檚 2016-17 theatre season continues with a highly anticipated all-female production of Shakespeare鈥檚 鈥淭welfth Night.鈥 Directed by renowned Los Angeles actor, director, teacher and producer Lisa Wolpe, the production runs Nov. 4 through Nov. 13 in the University Theatre.
- One group single-handedly brought vocal jazz to the masses. The other鈥檚 smooth R&B hits inspired a new generation of a cappella mania, from 'The Sing Off' to 'Glee' and 'Smash.'
- David Korevaar, College of Music, and Thomas T. Veblen, Geography Department, have been selected as recipients of the 2016 Distinguished Research Lectureship, which is among the highest honors bestowed by the faculty upon a faculty member at CU Boulder.
