This entails identifying when and how to reduce cognitive load and improve training in virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR).</p><p>Who can join this study:</p><ul><li>You are between 18–65 years old</li><li>You can speak and read English</li><li>You have normal vision (20/20) or corrected vision with contact lenses. Glasses are not recommended to be used with VR headsets.</li></ul><p>In this research experiment, you are invited to complete an assembly task while inside of a consumer-available extended reality head-mounted display (HMD). This means that you may be in virtual reality (VR) or augmented reality (AR). You will also wear a full head of neurological sensors: functional near infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) and electroencephalography (EEG).</p><p>The experiment takes 120 minutes. There are no direct benefits to you as a participant, but you will be able to gain some understanding of XR research. HMDs may increase the potential for humans to experience motion sickness symptoms or simulator sickness. Experience of these symptoms is greater for participants who have a history of motion sickness. This annual award is presented to CU Boulder staff in recognition of and appreciation for exceptional job performance and distinguished contributions to the campus community. Award criteria include job performance, leadership, service and interpersonal skills.</span></p><p><span>The award includes a prize of $5,000 (after tax) and a commemorative gift. The 2025 awards will be presented at a ceremony hosted by the chancellor.&nbsp;</span></p><h2><span>Eligibility</span></h2><ul><li><span>All eligible CU Boulder classified and university staff may be nominated for this award.</span></li><li><span>Nominees must have been employed by CU Boulder for at least three years by the nomination deadline and must not have received any corrective and/or disciplinary actions within the last five years.</span></li><li><span>Employees may only receive this award once during their campus career.</span></li><li><span>University officers (i.e, deans, associate vice chancellors and above) are not eligible for this award, and nominations will not be considered.</span></li></ul><h2><span>Nomination information</span></h2><p><span>Nominations may be submitted by any member of the campus community (staff, faculty or student) who has firsthand knowledge about the nominee.
