Four Keystone Areas of Work

We promote lifelong resilience and healthy mood in four keystone areas of work.

Research aimed at understanding, preventing, and treating youth depression, with a focus on novel interventions to foster emotional resilience.

  • We emphasize transdisciplinary collaboration of experts from diverse backgrounds working together to develop innovative, out-of-the disciplinary-box conceptual models and study design.

  • We develop scientific goals and strategies that are informed and inspired by collaboration with youth stakeholders and the families, educators and health providers who care for them.

Translation of research to practice in scalable, high impact programs, technologies, and clinical services.

  • We use an iterative model that rapidly leverages basic and clinical neuroscience discoveries into scalable intervention programs, including translation of mental health science into classrooms, daily-life contexts, and scalable digital solutions.

  • Our research teams emphasize and prioritize research focused on real world impact.

Education in youth mental health and intervention for the next generation of scientists and young people.

  • We train the next generation of leaders in mental health science, offering opportunities for trainees that span scaffolded pilot programs, mentorship in pursuit of extramural funding, and connection to an international network of scientists.

Community engagement and outreach that grounds our work in dialogue with our community, nurturing connection and enhancing impact.

  • We coordinate active, community-facing outreach efforts to bring our work into dialogue with the community, nurturing connection and enhancing real world impact.

Our work is achieved in a research-practice partnership framework and embracing values of innovation, inclusion, and impact.

Research-practice partnership means coming together with scientists, youth, parents, and educators to co-create and perform research and programming informed by lived experience.
